Downgrading QuickBooks Online Subscription
Who are eligible to downgrade?
People who are United States of America’s monthly subscribers can opt for downgrading their QuickBooks account. But there are certain factors that can prevent you from downgrading. These factors will redirect you to the dashboard if you try to downgrade with them.
How to downgrade the subscription?
Once you find out that you are eligible, you should consider all the factors before starting the downgrading process because once you are downgraded, you will have to wait for 24 hours to re-subscribe it. Follow the steps below to downgrade:
1. Open https://qbo.intuit.com/qbo37/login?webredir to login into your account.
2. Next, visithttps://qbo.intuit.com/app/changeplan.
3. “Change Plan” screen would pop up to show you the list of the plans containing your current and other options to downgrade.
4. Choose the plan from the list of the plans in which you would like to downgrade.
5. This will lead you to the “Loss of the features “screen. Read everything and then proceed further.
6. After reading and accepting that you want to downgrade, Click next.
7. You can continue with the “Change my plan” confirmation. This would include all the summaries of the new plan and the billing details. You would also get the chance to update your payment method.
8. Complete the process by seeing and confirming the billing and then click on the confirm button.
9. Now you would see the billing details and the summary of the billing amount followed by the next date of billing.
10. Sign out for these changes to take effect. Log out of the QuickBooks Online account.
11. Now you have to log in again to verify if the changes have been applied in your QuickBooks account.
12. Login to your account and select Gear, proceed to Account and settings, Click billing and subscriptions and check your status.
Now, while following the above steps, there might be situations that stop you from downgrading the subscription, below are few reasons and how to overcome them:
Reoccurring Transactions or templates
You have to select turn of the templates button by following below steps:
• Select Gear->Recurring Transactions
• Select Pause
• For all templates and recurring transactions complete this
Remove Users
Remove each user by selecting Remove button:
• Select Gear-> Manage Users
• Select the user you want to delete
• Click the Delete button
• Keep on deleting users as per your new plan’s limit
Inventory
Inventory is not active when you have downgraded, because downgrading doesn’t support it.
Service or product Deactivation
• For all active items, you have to run a report
• Select Gear->Products and Services List
• Select the product or service you want to deactivate and then click on the arrow on the right of the same.
• Select Make Inactive
• Choose Yes to confirm.
Service or product Reactivation
• Select Gear->Services and Products List
• Choose Filter-> select the inactive or all
• Select Apply
• To activate click at the activate at the right of the service or the product
3rd Party Applications
After downgrading the QuickBooks wouldn’t be able to use the features of the third party’s app that you used to enjoy. You can still do that by visiting the app’s website but then you wouldn’t be able to do that on the QuickBooks online. You would have to enter the data manually to update QuickBooks.
